Dominic Fritz stated that this year a new Minister of Defense is expected to be appointed, emphasizing the importance of having this ministry led by politicians, not technocrats. Fritz mentioned that he will make the nomination in the immediate future, after consulting with President Nicușor Dan, as he has done in the past.

This decision comes after the resignation of Ionuț Moșteanu from the position of Minister of Defense, caused by a scandal related to his CV. Dominic Fritz reaffirmed that a ministry of such weight must be led by individuals with significant political weight.
