USR has decided to challenge the ANI Law at the Constitutional Court, supported by PNL, invoking the unconstitutionality of two articles from the law. This action comes in the context where judges will interrupt their vacation to rule on the constitutionality of the law, considering the deadline of August 31 for meeting the milestones of the PNRR.

Although some USR senators voted for the law in the plenary session of the Senate to ensure the acquisition of 770 million euros in funds, the leader of the USR senators, Sorin Șipoș, emphasized that there are significant issues in the text of the law. The contested amendments stipulate the cessation of the function for individuals in a state of incompatibility. USR hopes that the judges will rule quickly, considering the exceptional situation and the need to correct the law before the PNRR deadline.
