USR and PNL will support a common candidate in Buzău: the independent Mihai Răzvan Moraru will compete with Marcel Ciolacu for the presidency of the County Council.

The members of the Political Committee of USR approved, with a large majority, the electoral alliance with PNL Buzău to support Mihai Răzvan Moraru, an entrepreneur and farmer with over 16 years of experience in business, in the race for the presidency of the Buzău County Council.

Moraru, known for establishing the first private research center in agricultural nutrition in Romania, has also been involved in social projects to reduce school dropout in rural areas, being awarded the Philanthropy Prize in 2019. The partial elections on December 7 will bring a competition between Moraru, supported by USR and PNL, and the PSD candidate, Marcel Ciolacu.
