The leader of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, declared on Tuesday, at RFI, that the coalition has decided that the pension of magistrates will be 70% of their salary, but in his opinion, the extension of the transition period from 10 to 15 years can be discussed.
"In the coalition, we discussed the options, after the meeting last week with the magistrates at Cotroceni, what the options are and everyone agrees that we should see if further consultation is needed, today, tomorrow, everyone agrees that this week we need to send the project to CSM for approval and fundamentally, everyone agrees that we are not changing the amount, so 70% of the income value, the salary, as it would be, we are talking about the amount of the pension.
Regarding the transition period, of course, here, I can tell you what I proposed yesterday and last week, I would accept the extension of the transition period from 10 to 15 years, if my colleagues agree. After all, if we are looking for a compromise, I believe that from our side, from the coalition's side, from the governmental arc's side, there is a possibility to show that from our point of view, social peace and just and fair governance is the most important thing," said Kelemen Hunor at RFI.
