Csoma Botond, the leader of the UDMR deputies, stated that Nicușor Dan is saddened by the current political crisis, emphasizing that the main problem in the discussions for forming the Government is the PSD's refusal to accept an agreement with PNL-USR-UDMR and a governmental rotation.
"There will be new discussions tomorrow. Mr. Nicușor Dan has this opinion that we should go to him when we have an agreement. This is what I understood. I was not present at that discussion that took place at the Cotroceni Palace, but from what I understood, Mr. Nicușor Dan is waiting for an agreement from the political parties that reflects a majority in the Romanian Parliament, a majority necessary for the government to be invested. If we only go with this harsh language and with the red lines we have, we will not have a government even next year. Do you know what the problem is? In my opinion, and if we had early elections, it would not substantially change the balance of power between the pro-European parties. So, I believe that this fragmentation would still remain and we should reach an agreement between these parties that formed the former coalition," said the leader of the UDMR deputies, Csoma Botond, on Digi24.
