The leader of the UDMR deputies stated that Nicușor Dan, the president, needs to come out of passivity and actively contribute to the formation of a new Government. He observes that, through the latest prime minister appointment, the president has become more of a player than Traian Băsescu. Botond emphasizes that Nicușor Dan should use his competencies to help shape a majority, instead of retreating to the Cotroceni Palace.

He believes that the president has become too involved in the political game, exceeding acceptable limits. Botond urges for a more active involvement from Nicușor Dan, suggesting informal discussions with political leaders to facilitate the formation of a majority. His criticism also targets a previous mistake related to the appointment of a prime minister, highlighting the importance of effective collaboration in this process.
