Theodor Stolojan, former prime minister and economist, said Romania needs immediate economic measures, including changes to the single tax rate, to correct anomalies in the tax system. He stressed the importance of a detailed analysis of each public sector before implementing fiscal measures. Stolojan criticized proposals for high-income taxes, warning that they hurt the middle class. He also discussed the tax challenges related to the transition to electric vehicles and mentioned the idea of a universal transaction tax, which could generate revenue for the budget.
