Stolojan said that without the backing of a party, Mircea Geoană would not succeed in an election campaign, paving the way for other possible candidates. He emphasized that Ciucă has the experience of making decisions in critical situations, while Geoană is perceived as a bureaucrat. Stolojan also mentioned the possibility of both Ciucă and Ciolacu running for the presidency.
