The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announced that the annual NATO symposium on hybrid topics will take place in Bucharest on October 15 and 16. This event represents the most important forum of the alliance, bringing together officials and experts from member states. The central objective of the meeting is to coordinate response strategies to hybrid threats and strengthen collective resilience against destabilizing actions in the Euro-Atlantic space.

The hosting of the symposium in Bucharest confirms Romania's status as a hub of expertise in the field, reflecting the trust that our country has within NATO. The interim Foreign Minister, Oana Ţoiu, emphasized the importance of discussions about defending democracy and critical infrastructure, highlighting Romania's role in facilitating strategic convergence between the EU and NATO.

"Hybrid threats know no borders and we must increase our capacity to defend ourselves, as well as the consequences for those who threaten our security in this way. Romania is becoming an important node in the debates about resilience. We are the host country of the European Union Cyber Center (ECCC) and, from this position, we can also facilitate strategic convergence between the EU and NATO in this area," said Minister Oana Ţoiu.
