The mayor of Grozești commune, Georgel Cristea, has been detained for assaulting two children. PNL Iași demands his expulsion from PSD and resignation from the position of mayor.

The mayor of the commune of Grozești, Georgel Cristea, was detained by the police on charges of physical assault against two minors, aged 14 and 15. The incident occurred on October 26, when the children attempted to access the town hall building in search of a restroom. Representatives of the Iași County Police confirmed that the 51-year-old man was detained for 24 hours and will be presented to the Prosecutor's Office next to the Răducăneni Court.

The Iași branch of PNL has called for Cristea's expulsion from PSD and his resignation from the position of mayor, emphasizing that such behavior is incompatible with any public authority position. The president of PNL Iași, Alexandru Muraru, requested the intervention of PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu to demonstrate that the party does not tolerate violence and called for immediate measures against the mayor.
