Political leaders in Romania have begun discussions for the formation of a new Government, establishing general principles related to macroeconomic targets, PNRR, OECD, and SAFE. Sorin Grindeanu, the leader of PSD, criticized the political blockage generated by some parties, accusing them of preferring to maintain their positions and privileges instead of contributing to the formation of a functional government. Grindeanu highlighted the paradox of the situation, stating that USR refuses to be part of the solution. On the other hand, Dominic Fritz, the president of USR, declared that his party will not support a monocolor PSD government, but will vote for a social-democrat government in 2027, provided that PSD offers support for a PNL-USR-UDMR Cabinet.

The days are important as we are rapidly approaching the start of official discussions of the Romanian state with rating agencies.

However, I cannot help but notice the moral exhibitionism of some. Through permanent political contortions, reversals, and the invention of various reasons for Romania not to have a functional government, it is proven - if it was still needed - that some parties have never wanted to let go of their positions and privileges.

They block the entire country "for the sake of the Romanians" and "sacrifice" daily by remaining in their positions.

More precisely, the crisis has been unblocked through blockage. This is the new political paradox that USR puts on the table today.
