Three senators of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) - Andrei-Emil Dîrlău, Constantin-Ciprian Iacob, and Ștefan Geamănu - have requested the Permanent Bureau of the Senate to approve a trip to the United States, scheduled for March 4-5, 2026, in Washington, D.C. They have been invited to participate in the inaugural Summit of the Alliance of Sovereign Nations, an event that brings together leaders of national-populist movements from around the world.

The summit, organized in collaboration with Anna Paulina Luna, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, aims to counteract the influence of global institutions and promote national sovereignty. The senators request that all expenses, including transportation, accommodation, and per diems, be covered by the Senate budget, with a deadline for issuing plane tickets on February 27.
