Sorin Grindeanu, the leader of the PSD, was unanimously voted to be the proposal for prime minister, announcing that the PSD takes responsibility for the government.
Within the National Political Bureau, Grindeanu requested a vote to have the freedom to choose the team of ministers, in case he receives the mandate from the President of Romania. He mentioned two ministerial options: Luca Niculescu, appreciated for his work as ambassador in Paris and for closing the file at the OECD, and Alexandru Nazare, former Minister of Finance, whom he said did a good job.
Political sources indicate that Nazare is discussing with Grindeanu about the budget situation and the possibility of remaining in the government. Both ministers were previously on the list proposed by Adrian Veștea, who did not obtain the necessary votes for the government to be invested.
