Siegfried Mureșan attacks Sorin Grindeanu after the statement about the “hashtag bubble”: “He will not hesitate to issue another pro-theft ordinance”

Designated Prime Minister Siegfried Mureșan criticized PSD President Sorin Grindeanu on Tuesday after the latter declared that “the hashtag bubble has deflated,” referring to the protests in 2017 and 2018 against Emergency Ordinance 13 and in defense of the judiciary and the rule of law.

Mureșan argues that the statement shows that the Social Democratic leader “has learned nothing” from that period and that he does not regret the ordinance, but rather the fact that he was held accountable for it.

The designated prime minister stated that, if PSD returned to government, the party could once again adopt an ordinance favorable to those accused of corruption and govern “against the people” if there were no street protests.

“If it comes to power, it will not hesitate to issue a new pro-theft ordinance and govern against the people if it knows that people will not take to the streets and protest. That is why this party is dangerous, and that is why PSD must not decide the future of our country and of the honest people in our country,” Mureșan wrote on his Facebook page.

The reaction came after Grindeanu appeared on România TV. Asked whether he feared a new mobilization against PSD, he said that “the hashtag bubble has deflated” and that people are mainly concerned with economic problems.

The exchange of remarks comes ahead of the investiture vote for the Government proposed by Mureșan, scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, in Parliament.

PSD decided not to support the Executive, although Mureșan sent Grindeanu a document containing Social Democratic proposals that he claims he included in the governing program.
