Romania has assumed the reform of judges' pensions through the commitments in the PNRR, and the blocking of this process by judges generates losses of 231 million euros, stated the Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoș Pîslaru. He emphasized that Romania can no longer afford special pensions, calling for equity in the public pension system for all professional categories, including judges, doctors, teachers, and police officers. Pîslaru expressed his solidarity with Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu, who was criticized by the Superior Council of Magistracy for her statements regarding special pensions. This reform is considered crucial for the financial sustainability of the country.
