Romania should receive €28.5 billion from the NRRP, but delays in implementing reforms are jeopardizing these funds. So far, the country has received only €9.44 billion, a third of the total. Popa points out that €6.3 billion in projects will not be realized by the deadline, which will affect investments and increase pressure on the state budget. Romania could also receive €60bn from the next EU budget, but will have to demonstrate its capacity to implement the necessary reforms.
