Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that Romania will close the year 2025 with a deficit of 8.4% of GDP, following discussions with European officials. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with Romanian MEPs to address budgetary issues and European funds from the PNRR. Bolojan estimated that the effects of the measures will contribute 0.6-0.7% of GDP this year and over 2.5% next year, aiming to reduce the deficit to 6%. The increase in interest costs is the main influence on the budget revision.
