Prime Minister Bolojan stated that Romania proposes a deficit of 8.4% for the current year, emphasizing the need to maintain budgetary control and financial discipline in the next two months. These months are essential for preparing the budget for the following year, which will include the deficit target and stabilization measures.
The government intends to adopt a package of measures in November to reduce expenditures, increase revenues, and prioritize investments from national budgets. Bolojan emphasized that these measures are crucial to regain credibility in front of the markets and the European Commission, considering that stabilizing the national budget is a priority for 2026.
