Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that Romania could participate in demining missions to unblock the Strait of Hormuz, but this will only be possible after a ceasefire is reached in the Middle East.
Bolojan emphasized that Romania is open to contributing to demining and surveillance operations, but only under conditions of safety. He also mentioned that Romania has had a military presence in various theaters of operations, demonstrating the professionalism of the Romanian army.
In the context of the crisis in the Middle East, Bolojan supported the temporary deployment of American equipment in Romania, highlighting the importance of support for international partners.
In his opinion, the year 2026 will bring challenges for Europe due to the conflicts in Ukraine and Iran, but he expressed optimism that Romania can create better conditions for citizens through financial discipline and the implementation of necessary reforms.
