The Prime Minister of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, had a phone conversation on Wednesday with the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Mindaugas Sinkevičius, focused on strengthening bilateral relations and regional security.

The two officials discussed incidents affecting the air and maritime space in the region, with Bolojan emphasizing the importance of keeping the Black Sea on the European security agenda. The Lithuanian Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Romania's contribution to the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission.

Additionally, the discussions included the priorities of Lithuania's presidency at the EU Council in 2027, such as European security and support for the Republic of Moldova. Economically, trade exchanges between the two countries reached a record of nearly 500 million euros in 2025.

Bolojan welcomed Lithuanian investments in Romania and thanked for the support given to Romania's accession to the OECD. In the end, the Romanian Prime Minister invited Sinkevičius to visit Romania.
