Andrei Muraru stated that Romania is collaborating with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to facilitate re-entry into the Visa Waiver Program, mentioning significant progress but without immediate certainties. The ambassador emphasized that Romania proposes an extensive partnership in the field of security, superior to other states in the program. He also clarified that the cancellation of the elections in December 2024 was not associated by American officials with Romania's exclusion from the program.
