Remus Ștefureac, the director of INSCOP, stated that a new political experiment with a technocratic government could propel the extremist party AUR to an electoral score of over 50% in the next parliamentary elections. He refers to the score of 45.6% obtained by PSD in 2016, after two years of technocratic governance under Dacian Cioloș, supported by PSD, PNL, and USR.

Remus Ștefureac estimates that, considering the current economic and social challenges, AUR could benefit from a technocratic government. He warns that such a situation would represent a catastrophe for Romanian democracy and for the country's economy, highlighting AUR's connections with anti-Western narratives and opposition to international demands, such as hosting American planes. He also mentions the blocking of necessary legislation for national defense, emphasizing the risks posed by AUR's rise.

,,45.6%. This was the electoral score obtained by PSD/Liviu Dragnea after a year and something of an experiment with a technocratic prime minister and government (the Cioloș government) supported by PSD, PNL, and USR.

What will AUR's score be in 2028 after a possible experiment with a technocratic government/prime minister installed for the next two and a half years, supported by the same parties?

Given how society looks right now, the type of cleavages, the kind of huge economic-financial challenges with their enormous social costs, perfect for ultra-populist formulas, my estimate is a score of over 50%.

Which would be a systemic catastrophe, a disaster for the democratic regime, for the economy and prosperity of this country in the context of a large part of the elites of this party being connected to anti-Western narratives.

I say anti-Western because, beyond AUR's radical anti-European discourse, I suspect no one has forgotten AUR's opposition to the request from the USA addressed to Romania to host transport planes and radars. As for real patriotism, we should not forget the blocking of necessary legislation for the Romanian Army to shoot down aggressive Russian drones, right?'' , wrote Remus Ștefureac on Facebook.
