Raluca Turcan, PNL deputy, announced the intention to significantly amend the functioning law of the Constitutional Court, following the blockages in decision-making. In a Facebook post, she accused four CCR judges of defying public will, emphasizing that the court should not operate as a "negotiation arena".
Among the proposed amendments are the introduction of sanctions for judges who unjustifiably boycott decisions, automatic recusal of judges in conflict of interest, and the possibility for Parliament to revoke CCR judges who seriously violate the Constitution. Turcan mentioned that the draft law will be launched soon for public debate and will include other changes aimed at improving the functioning of the Constitutional Court.
