Radu Miruță, the interim Minister of Defense, stated that Romania "is starting to see indirect consequences of this war," emphasizing the need to initiate a diplomatic protest following illegal drone incursions in Romanian airspace.

He explained that the analysis of the downed drones will take time, considering the complexity of the debris. He also confirmed that the first identified drone is of Russian origin.

The minister emphasized that the Romanian army reacted quickly and effectively, demonstrating the capability to shoot down intruding drones.

"Romania, we see that it is starting to see indirect consequences of this war more and more frequently. The Romanian army responds firmly, responds lethally. You see that on the first day it took longer, on the second day less, this morning, military pilots managed to track this drone on the fighter jet's radar, which is an extremely complicated matter for specialists, to shoot at it and bring it down in a safe area within 5 minutes of its entry into Romanian airspace. Imagine that the fighter jet has a minimum speed of about two and a half times greater than the speed of the drone. In the context in which this can happen, I define it as fantastic and a testament to the skill of these pilots," said Radu Miruță for Digi24.

At the same time, Miruță emphasizes the need for a diplomatic protest, reminding that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Ţoiu, ordered the summoning of the Russian ambassador, and criticized the pro-Russian propagandists in Romania who "are trying to poison public opinion" that the war in Ukraine does not exist.
