The interim Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, declared on Tuesday that the solution for the governmental crisis in Romania is the formation of a minority executive made up of PNL-USR-UDMR, accompanied by a quarantine period for PSD. Miruță emphasizes that PSD, having an insufficient number of votes and being publicly blamed, cannot form a government on its own.
He believes that AUR must be isolated from political decisions to ensure a pro-European path for the country. Miruță warns that a monochrome PSD government would depend on weekly negotiations with AUR, which would affect the stability of important decisions.
He urges PSD to reflect on the current situation and to demonstrate that it can return to the coalition as a responsible party. Miruță rejects the idea of leaving the country in PSD's hands, emphasizing that political fatigue does not justify such a choice.
