The Social Democratic Party (PSD) announced that it has withdrawn all its representatives from government political positions, in reaction to the submission of the motion of censure against Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, PSD emphasized that the resignations of state secretaries, undersecretaries of state, prefects, and sub-prefects constitute an "act of dignity," reflecting the party's consistency in its parliamentary efforts. PSD believes that the current priorities are changing the way of governance and stopping the economic decline, more important than maintaining positions in a government that it considers dysfunctional.
The motion of censure, signed by 251 parliamentarians, was submitted on Tuesday in Parliament, and the debate and vote are scheduled for May 5.
