On October 21, representatives of the PSD decided to leave the coalition meeting, dissatisfied with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's refusal to form a joint working group to address the issue of judges' pensions, in the context in which the Constitutional Court declared the proposed law unconstitutional. The social democrats, temporarily led by Sorin Grindeanu, left the Government headquarters angrily after two hours of discussions with PNL, USR, and UDMR, leaving the other participants perplexed. They criticized Bolojan's decision to manage the situation alone, considering that he has lost credibility in front of judicial institutions.

Additionally, the PSD was also disturbed by the lack of consideration for their proposal regarding the date of the elections for the Capital City Hall. The Constitutional Court decided, on October 20, that the law reducing the special pensions of judges is unconstitutional, and the Prime Minister announced that he would resume efforts to comply with the CCR's reasoning.
