The leadership of the PSD will meet on Sunday in the National Political Council to discuss the voting strategy on the state budget for 2026, scheduled for a vote on Thursday.
Social democrats are dissatisfied that not all requested measures were included in the solidarity package in the budget project. PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu announced that the party will propose amendments in Parliament, without negotiating with other parties, emphasizing that measures such as increasing allowances for children with disabilities are essential. Daniel Băluță, the leader of PSD Bucharest, criticized the Government, accusing it of a lack of empathy and neglecting social needs.
On the other hand, PNL accuses PSD of collaboration with AUR to remove Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, warning of the risks of a political crisis in the context of geopolitical instability. Mircea Abrudean, the President of the Senate, emphasized the necessity of rapid adoption of the budget, considering it realistic and investment-oriented. Prime Minister Bolojan expressed confidence that the budget will pass through Parliament, emphasizing the importance of economic stability.
