PNL deputies Ionel Bogdan, Gabriel Andronache and Ciprian Dobre accused PSD of manipulating parliamentary procedures in collaboration with AUR, following two decisions adopted during the same meeting of the Permanent Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies.
The Permanent Bureau approved AUR’s request for Prime Minister Luca Niculescu to participate, on November 2, in the “Prime Minister’s Hour” debate, to present the situation regarding budget execution, debts and outstanding payments. During the same meeting, the USR request concerning the participation of Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare in “Government Hour” was postponed, for explanations regarding the deficit and major economic issues of interest.
PNL group leader Gabriel Andronache claimed that AUR’s request had been submitted in order to block USR’s request and that it was approved with PSD’s votes. PNL abstained from the vote, considering that the Finance Minister should have directly presented the data on the deficit.
Ionel Bogdan stated that PSD is behaving like an opposition party toward its own Government, even though it is part of the governing coalition. Ciprian Dobre compared the situation to the period when Liviu Dragnea was in charge and argued that PSD is avoiding taking responsibility for the real state of public finances.
PNL states that the budget deficit has been reduced to 6.2%, and that the target for 2027 is 5.3%. Party representatives say that these limits will influence the budget rectification, the 2027 budget bill, salaries and pensions. In the statements presented, PNL’s accusations were not countered by a position from PSD.
