Sorin Grindeanu emphasized that the proposal to tax banking transactions did not come from the PSD and that the party does not agree with it. BNR adviser Eugen Rădulescu criticized the idea, calling it an "aberration" and comparing it to measures applied in Venezuela, stressing the need to professionalize ANAF in order to improve state revenues. Former PNL president Theodor Stolojan also called for a detailed analysis of the public sector before taking fiscal measures.
