The president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, stated that the priority in the upcoming period must be related to the price of fuels and energy-related aspects.

The PSD calls on Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan to urgently analyze the proposals from the ministers of Energy and Agriculture to combat the accelerated increase in fuel prices, caused by the conflict in the Middle East. The social democrats emphasize that the solutions were formulated immediately after the onset of the global energy crisis, but have remained blocked due to governmental indecision. The PSD believes that the lack of a rapid response affects Romanians and the national economy, in the context where other governments around the world have acted to protect their citizens.

The leader of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, has called for rapid intervention and mentioned that the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, has already presented several intervention scenarios. Among the options being analyzed is the introduction of a flexible excise duty on fuels. Grindeanu insisted on the need for a quick solution, emphasizing that the responsibility lies with the Executive.
