President Nicușor Dan said that, in the short term, he does not anticipate exceptional increases in fuel prices, amid the effects of the war on the global oil market. The head of state said that Romania will monitor international developments and stressed that a diplomatic solution must be found as soon as possible.

Nicușor Dan explained that there is currently no shortage of crude oil supplies, but prices are difficult to estimate because of the imbalance between production and demand on the global market. According to the president, the Government will have to respond in real time and take measures to limit the impact of price increases at the pump.

On Monday, regular gasoline cost an average of approximately 9.95 lei per liter, about 18 bani more than the previous week. Premium gasoline was priced at 10.5 lei per liter. Regular diesel cost 10.55 lei per liter, while premium diesel reached 11.2 lei.
