PSD has emerged from the consultations with Nicușor Dan. The conditions sent by Grindeanu to the president and what the social democrats say about the option of a technocrat prime minister.

The PSD delegation left on Monday morning from consultations with President Nicușor Dan, while the leader from Cotroceni began formal negotiations to find a new government variant.

PSD leaders left the discussions with Nicușor Dan after about half an hour.

"PSD has conveyed the points of view that you know, in order to advance, to find a government with full powers, to be voted on by the end of this session in Parliament. The main rules, principles that we will not violate, as a result of internal consultations, are that we no longer want to have a government with Ilie Bolojan as prime minister and the exclusion of an alliance outside pro-Western parties, these are the principles, so that as a result of the consultations a solution can be found. Probably after consultations, we will be able to develop possible scenarios," said Sorin Grindeanu upon leaving the consultations.

What PSD says about the option of a technocratic prime minister

At the same time, sources cited by Digi24 and HotNews.ro claim that Grindeanu told the president that PSD is ready to assume the position of prime minister if this scenario arises. Regarding the option of a technocratic prime minister, especially after the name Delia Velculescu was mentioned, PSD stated that it is a weaker option than the political prime minister provided by the party, political sources say.

The PSD delegation at the consultations with the president included Sorin Grindeanu, Secretary General Claudiu Manda, Marian Neacșu, Gheorghe Șoldan, and first vice-presidents Marius Oprescu and Corneliu Ștefan.
