The Social Democratic Party announced on Tuesday in a press release that the Government "must accept the conditions set by the PSD to protect national interests and the interests of Romanian citizens" in order to pass the projects through Parliament.
The PSD states, at the same time, that it is willing to support the necessary measures to attract European funds, but not before "checking thoroughly" each project proposed by the Government.
"We will not allow the dismissed government to, in the name of 'saving European money' from the PNRR or SAFE, sneak into the bills provisions that serve only their own party interests, with no connection to the national interest," emphasizes the PSD in a press release in which the social democrats underline that they are in opposition and will act as such.
Furthermore, the PSD supports that the party will not vote for a Salary Law, "crafted according to the narrow political vision of the current dismissed prime minister, which, instead of solving the imbalance in the budgetary system, could bring more inequity in Romanian society."
Last but not least, the social democrats assert that they oppose the sale of Romania's strategic companies without public consultation.
