Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan explained that the revenues from the increased VAT and excise duties, in effect since August, will be visible in October and November. Although the revenues from July and August were additional, they do not yet reflect the impact of the VAT increase, and the initial estimates were too optimistic. The budget deficit has risen to 4.54% in the first eight months of 2025, highlighting the need to assess fiscal measures in the coming months.
