The leader of PNL, Ilie Bolojan, stated that the party maintains the proposal to form a minority government, based on a national pact valid until the end of the year, which will establish Romania's priorities for the next 6 months.
President Nicușor Dan has begun consultations with political parties for the appointment of a new prime minister, requesting a parliamentary majority and a reasonable attitude. PSD, led by Sorin Grindeanu, announced that it is ready to assume governance, but will not support a PNL-USR-UDMR minority government. Additionally, the president of AUR, George Simion, stated that without AUR, the governmental crisis cannot be resolved.
"I presented to the President of Romania the position of PNL in this difficult situation we are in. Considering how things have unfolded, PNL believes that a realistic formula through which we can have, in the short term, an invested government, is a formula that should be based on a basic condition of a political agreement, a pact for Romania, which should be valid in the following period until the end of the year, in which the political forces that truly understand the difficult situation of our country would sign this pact," said the president of PNL at the Cotroceni Palace.
