PNL Deputy Alexandru Muraru announced on Facebook, before the consultations at the Cotroceni Palace, that the party will not support any government that includes "traitors from PNL", plagiarists, or individuals with criminal convictions. His post is accompanied by a photo of Cătălin Predoiu, former first vice-president of PNL, alongside former Prime Minister and PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu.
Muraru emphasized that the liberals who voted for the government proposed by Adrian Veștea will be excluded from the party, marking the beginning of a new phase for PNL, which distances itself from old political practices.
He sent a clear message to the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, asking him to come to the consultations with decency and good faith.
Muraru stated that PNL has fundamentally changed and will continue to act in the public interest and for the defense of democracy, regardless of whether it is in opposition or in government. This statement underscores PNL's commitment to distance itself from previous political combinations and to promote transparency and integrity in politics.
