PNL is awaiting the outcome of the parliamentary vote on the government led by Siegfried Mureșan and President Nicușor Dan’s proposal if the Executive fails to secure the number of votes required for investiture.
PNL spokesperson Ionel Bogdan said the liberals support a government made up of ministers proposed by three parliamentary parties and coordinated by Siegfried Mureșan. He described the team as competent and transparent, but avoided predicting the outcome of the vote.
Bogdan said that PNL has not yet decided whether to request, together with USR, that early elections be triggered. Any position will be established within the party’s statutory bodies after the vote result and the president’s option are announced.
The liberal leader dismissed speculation about the final number of votes, including in connection with the three endorsements publicly announced by lawmakers from the United Group. He said that PNL, USR, and UDMR are relying on the votes of lawmakers who have announced that they support the Mureșan government, but the verdict will be known only after the parliamentary procedure is completed.
