Robert Sighiartău, recently appointed general secretary of the PNL by Ilie Bolojan, stated that the party does not rule out the scenario of early elections, following the failed negotiations at the Cotroceni Palace between Nicușor Dan and the political parties. Sighiartău emphasizes that Romania is in a political deadlock generated by the PSD, which dismissed the Bolojan Government.
He accuses the social democrats of irresponsibility, mentioning that they rejected the PNL's proposals for a functional government. The criticisms also extend to the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, whose governance options have failed to unblock the situation.
Following a round of negotiations, no agreement was reached, and Romania continues to face a deep political crisis. Sighiartău states that the PNL has come up with concrete solutions, but the PSD preferred to continue political games, amplifying the existing tensions.
