Mircea Abrudean, the president of the Senate, confirms PNL's support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan

The President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, declared on Tuesday that PNL will not give up its support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, regardless of speculations regarding PSD's withdrawal from the Government. Abrudean emphasized that there is no official proposal from PSD to give up taking over the position of prime minister in 2027, considering this information as speculation.

He stated that PNL wishes to continue the current coalition, which has functioned with its ups and downs, and avoided commenting on possible offers from PSD to change the prime minister. Regarding the decisive vote of PSD on April 20, Abrudean mentioned that the reaction of the liberals will be determined by the National Political Bureau.

Additionally, he avoided speculating about the formation of a minority government with the support of sovereignist parties, emphasizing the importance of political stability in Romania. Abrudean reaffirmed that PNL respects the coalition protocols and that decisions will be made by the party's leadership bodies.
