The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, has signed the decree appointing Oana Clara Gheorghiu as Deputy Prime Minister, following the proposal of Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan. The ceremony for taking the oath will take place on Thursday at the Cotroceni Palace. Oana Gheorghiu, 56 years old, is a graduate of the Academy of Economic Studies and co-founder of the Association Dăruiește Viață, having extensive experience in medical infrastructure projects. She has coordinated the attraction of over 100 million euros for the development of the healthcare system in Romania.
The resignation of former Deputy Prime Minister Dragoș Anastasiu left the position vacant, and Oana Gheorghiu was chosen to continue the necessary reforms. Although there was a request from the PSD to withdraw the proposal, Gheorghiu emphasized that her previous opinions about American leaders were expressed in a personal context.
