In an interview on Romania TV, President Nicușor Dan discussed the economic situation of Romania, acknowledging that Romanians are doing worse compared to six months ago, due to 10% inflation. He explained that the measures taken are necessary to respond to the demands of investment funds, which threaten to withdraw or offer more expensive loans if the deficit is not reduced.

Dan highlighted the issue of corruption, mentioning that the phenomenon affects citizens' trust in the state and undermines the economy. He also criticized the government's insufficient communication with citizens and emphasized the rigidity of the Prime Minister, who leaves no room for negotiation. In conclusion, he stated that although 2026 will be a difficult year, there are hopes for economic growth starting in 2027.
