Nicusor Dan stated that, following the meeting with Fatih Birol, the president of the International Energy Agency, Romania is expected to join this organization as soon as possible, concurrently with joining the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Joining the OECD is essential in order to become a member of the IEA, an organization that brings together top experts in the energy field.

Dan emphasized the importance of energy security and the competitiveness of the European economy, mentioning that Romania can benefit from international expertise to reduce energy prices. He highlighted the need for public and private investments, as well as European coordination to achieve these medium-term objectives.
