Nicușor Dan will leave Romania tomorrow to participate in the 2-day European Council Summit, which will take place in Brussels on Thursday and Friday.
Since the nomination of Adrian Veștea as designated prime minister, Nicușor Dan has not made any public statements regarding the political crisis in Bucharest, only having informal consultations with party leaders.
The summit takes place against the backdrop of the conclusion of the G7 Summit in France.
According to the Council, major topics of interest will be addressed, including competitiveness, the EU's long-term budget for the period 2028-2034, the situation in Ukraine, the Middle East, migration, and issues related to illicit drugs.
European leaders will listen to a speech by Ukrainian President Zelensky, discuss EU enlargement, and review the progress made on the "A Europe, a market" agenda.
Global macroeconomic imbalances and their impact on Europe's competitiveness will also be addressed, as well as details about the multiannual financial framework for 2028-2034. The topics discussed will also include recent developments in the Middle East, such as the conflict in Iran and the situation in Gaza.
