President Nicușor Dan will represent Romania at the NATO Summit in Ankara, scheduled for July 7-8, alongside the Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, and the Chief of the General Staff, General Gheorghiță Vlad.
The Ministry of National Defense announced that, during the summit, General Vlad will present Romania's priorities for strengthening defense on the Eastern Flank, with a focus on the Black Sea. The agenda includes evaluating the progress made since the Hague Summit, enhancing collective defense, and support for Ukraine. Radu Miruță will also participate in the NATO Security and Defence Industry Forum, dedicated to the development of the defense industry.
Additionally, on June 2, Gheorghiță Vlad was placed under criminal investigation for complicity in usurping office, and Radu Miruță informed the president about his situation, promising a subsequent analysis. The president avoided details in his recent statements.
