Nicușor Dan will implement significant changes in Romanian diplomacy, immediately after the Easter holidays. According to Gândul sources, the most notable change will take place at the Romanian Embassy in Washington, where Andrei Muraru is expected to be recalled to the country after a five-year term. Muraru, appointed in March 2021, has been involved in various scandals, including in connection with the luxury residence rented by the Romanian state. Although his term is ending, it is anticipated that he will be appointed to another country, as the Presidential Administration is satisfied with his work. On the list of potential successors are Dan Neculăescu, Romania's representative to NATO, and Cornel Feruță, Romania's ambassador to the UN, with Neculăescu having the best chances due to his close relationships with NATO leaders. Nicușor Dan has announced a significant reshuffle in diplomacy, estimating 40-50 important changes, which will be formalized in April 2026.
