In an interview with franceinfoTV, President Nicușor Dan emphasized the need for Europe to send a long-term message of support to Russia for Ukraine, which shares the same values. Participating in the discussions of the "Coalition of Will" initiated by London, he expressed his concern regarding the American peace plan, believing that Russia has no real intentions of negotiating a ceasefire. Nicușor Dan warned that a potential defeat of Ukraine would radically change the situation for Europe and Romania, making them neighbors with Russia.

Although he refused to consider sending troops to Ukraine, he acknowledged the importance of Romania as a route for aid destined for Kyiv. Additionally, he commented on the necessity of increasing the defense budgets of NATO members, emphasizing that Europe and the United States must maintain relations to ensure long-term security.
