Nicușor Dan: The United States has understandable reasons for canceling the presidential elections of 2024

In an interview with the Polish TV station TVP World, President Nicușor Dan addressed Romania's relationship with the Trump administration, in the context of the criticisms from American Vice President JD Vance regarding the cancellation of the presidential elections in November 2024.

Dan emphasized that, following contacts with American officials, the situation regarding the elections has been clarified and there are no longer any doubts. He mentioned that, although the cancellation of elections is not a common occurrence, the relations between Romania and the USA are now normal. Additionally, the president discussed the security partnership with Washington, highlighting collaboration in the economic and nuclear fields, which confirms the stability of bilateral relations.
