Nicușor Dan says Romania's scholarship system is unique in Europe and criticizes the ministry's decision to cut scholarships as unjustified.

President Nicușor Dan said that cutting some scholarships and reducing others are decisions of the relevant ministry and the Government. He emphasized that the scholarship system in Romanian pre-university education is unique in Europe and that it is abnormal that 30% of students receive merit scholarships. Dan mentioned that the evaluation of scholarships is subjective, depending on the teachers in schools and being uneven at national level.
