President Nicușor Dan declared on Monday, after consultations with political parties for the nomination of a new prime minister, that he will continue discussions until a solid, pro-Western majority is formed.

At the Cotroceni Palace, Dan had meetings with representatives of the parties, who presented their positions and conditions to support a new Executive.

He emphasized that, even from the informal discussions after the adoption of the motion of censure, he requested the parties to identify a majority that would ensure the stability of the government. The President called for responsibility and maturity from the parties, highlighting the importance of reaching a consensus in a reasonable time, with coherent and viable proposals. Consultations will continue until a governing solution is crystallized.

"We will continue the series of consultations until a solid, pro-Western majority option crystallizes. My public appeal is the same as I emphasized in today's meetings: it is essential for the parties to demonstrate responsibility, maturity, and to reach, in a reasonable time, a common denominator, with coherent formulas and viable proposals. Even from the informal discussions held after the adoption of the motion of censure, his request was for the parties to indicate the majority they can coagulate, in accordance with parliamentary mathematics, that can ensure the support of a Government," the president conveyed in a press release.
